U2 regresa con su nuevo disco Songs of Experience 3 años después del polémico y controvertido Songs Of Innocence, y para esto, la banda irlandesa debutó tiempo atrás, a través de su página de facebook, «The Blackout«, como preámbulo de lo que se vendría en el camino.
Sin embargo, el primer single oficial del disco, “You’re The Best Thing About Me”, nos mostró a una banda, al comienzo, intentando ser agresiva, pero regresando a la misma fórmula del pasado.
En el disco se incluyen dos colaboraciones con Kendrick Lamar, una para el tema «Get Out of Your Own Way» y otra para «American Soul«.
Producido por Jacknife Lee y Ryan Tedder, U2 ha querido brindar un mensaje de amor y plasmarlo a través de este nuevo álbum.
Mientras, la banda anunció ya la primer parte de su gira eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE por Norteamérica junto con el arte de portada y el tracklist del nuevo disco.
